Portable Device for Biological Threat Mitigation

The pBDi® is a portable detection instrument designed for the rapid and sensitive on-site identification of biological threat agents. Engineered for use by non-scientific personnel, the pBDi® is easy to operate, even when wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) under extreme field conditions.

Fully portable and powered by internal batteries, the pBDi® can be deployed directly within the danger zone (hot zone). Alternatively, it can be integrated into various mobile platforms and powered by an external source.

Analytical Test Kits

  • Toxin Test Kit 1: Ricin; SEB (Staphylococcal Enterotoxin B); Botulinum Toxin types A, B, and F.
  • Toxin Test Kit 2: Abrin; SEA (Staphylococcal Enterotoxin A); Botulinum Toxin types C, D, and E.
  • Biothreat Agent Test Kit (Bacillus anthracis, Yersinia pestis, Francisella tularensis, Brucella melitensis, Burkholderia mallei, Smallpox viruses).
  • The device supports self-immobilising chips and customised chips for specific mission requirements.
  • Other biological agents are detectable upon request.
