Intelligent Sensor Array

The long-standing collaboration between AIRSENSE Analytics and PCA Technologies has led to the development of OlfoSense, an IOMS (Instrumental Odour Monitoring System) designed for large-scale odour dispersion monitoring. It is specifically engineered for installation at emission sources or along facility perimeters.

Wastewater treatment plants, as well as chemical and petrochemical facilities, carry high risks of environmental impact. Local residents often report unpleasant odours and express concerns regarding their health. Thanks to OlfoSense, operators can take immediate action whenever concentration thresholds are exceeded.

OlfoSense is a comprehensive instrument that allows for the constant monitoring of key parameters affecting the quality of life:

  • Odour Concentration (OUE/m3).
  • H2S (Hydrogen Sulphide).
  • NH3 (Ammonia).
  • VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds).
  • PMX (Particulate Matter X).
  • Environmental Parameters (when paired with a weather station).


OlfoSense is fully integratable with the SmitOlfo

All recorded data is visualised in real-time. Furthermore, by combining OlfoSense data with a meteorological station, the system can generate odour dispersion simulations. This provides a real-time view of the emission impact on the surrounding territory, allowing for proactive management of environmental footprints.
