AeroTracer, developed by AIRSENSE Analytics GmbH and Lufthansa Technik AG, assists maintenance technicians, engineers, and ground crew in identifying chemical substances and the appropriate technical tools to use. This significantly shortens aircraft downtime—a critical factor in the aviation industry.

AeroTracer is a portable instrument capable of identifying key compounds present during aircraft maintenance phases, such as:

  • Hydraulic fluids.
  • Heat transfer fluids
  • Adhesives.
  • De-icing fluids
  • Kerosene.
  • Other compounds


AeroTracer is deployed following reports of odours caused by engine oil leaks to detect their presence in the bleed air and, crucially, to pinpoint the source of the issue, facilitating targeted maintenance.
