PCA Technologies played a leading role at EXPO Dubai by participating in the international event “Blockchain Technology for Agri-Food Supply Chain Traceability,” held at the prestigious Italy Pavilion.
In a global context that demands increasingly high standards of transparency, our company brought its expertise in gas and odor analysis as a key element for validating product quality throughout the entire supply chain.
During the sessions, it emerged how blockchain represents the “immutable ledger” of a product’s history; however, for this data to be truthful, it requires objective and scientific inputs from the field. This is where our technology comes into play, allowing for:
- Certification of origin and freshness: By detecting the olfactory fingerprint (VOCs) of products in real time.
- Prevention of food fraud: By identifying anomalies or adulterations that traditional methods might overlook.
- Digitalization of quality: By transforming sensory data into an encrypted digital value entered directly into the Blockchain.
Participation in EXPO Dubai highlighted the importance of the European TRUST project, which involves collaboration between academic and industrial centers of excellence.
