On 10 March, the meeting “Present and Future of Environmental Monitoring” was held at the headquarters of the Unione Industriali (Industrialists’ Union) in Savona. The event was organised by SEA-S, a member company of the Unione Industriali Savona, which hosted PCA Technologies for an in-depth look at sensor technology and environmental data management.
The proceedings were opened at 11:00 by Mattia Minuto, representative of the Unione Industriali di Savona, before moving into the operational part of the morning.
The presentation by Stefano Valle, CEO of SEA-S, was the centrepiece of the session dedicated to “Case Histories”. Valle shared his company’s direct experience in using PCA solutions for the continuous monitoring of air quality.
Specifically, the focus was placed on comparing indoor and outdoor air quality: given the company’s geographical location, as explained in detail by Eng. Bruno Maglio (SEA-S), the monitoring serves to detect any particulate matter peaks that could compromise the work environment. The presentation highlighted how technology is not merely an environmental control tool, but a fundamental safeguard for the protection of employee health.
Following this, Mattia Crivelli, General Manager of PCA Technologies, provided a technical overview of currently available instruments and their versatility across various applications.
The core of his talk focused on daily operational needs and the evolution of the approach to monitoring, marking the transition from simple regulatory compliance to a strategic choice. Indeed, the future of this sector lies in the ability of companies to invest in accurate monitoring to enhance their profile and credibility. Such transparency demonstrates a concrete commitment to environmental responsibility in the eyes of partners and the local community, moving far beyond mere legal requirements.
